VarynForge is an SEO research workspace your agent drives over MCP. It reads a site, maps its niche, ranks what to write next and forges a brief for each piece. Your agent drafts from the brief, the lint gate checks the draft, and you publish through your own CMS. This page names each part once, in the order you meet them.

## Project and niche

A project is one market you work on, usually one site or one client. You create it with `create_project` from a website URL or a sentence describing the niche. The project exists at once; the niche analysis runs in the background, and the niche profile is ready to rely on when `get_project` reports `niche.analysisStatus` as `ready`. Everything else in VarynForge hangs off the niche.

## Asset

The asset is the site or product the project is about. It is optional: a project built from a sentence has none. When you give a URL, VarynForge maps the site's own pages, so opportunities can be marked as covered, partly covered or a gap against what you already publish. `remap_asset` re-crawls the site when the map looks stale.

## Destinations

A destination is where you publish: a website, a local business listing, a YouTube channel, TikTok, Instagram, X or LinkedIn. Destinations block nothing, and your first brief needs none. `list_destinations` reads them, and `add_destination` adds one.

## Research run

A research run discovers keywords, evaluates competitors and writes opportunity clusters for the niche. It is paid: each run consumes one credit, and the free plan gets a structured upgrade answer instead of a run. A run takes about an hour, so your agent starts it with `start_research_run` and checks `get_research_status` every 30 to 60 seconds at most.

## Opportunities

An opportunity is a cluster of related keywords, scored 0 to 100 against the highest-scoring visible cluster. `list_opportunities` returns them ranked and takes four goal filters: `fast_wins`, `high_intent`, `authority_building` and `competitor_gap`. Clusters your site already covers stay hidden unless you ask for them, as refresh candidates.

## Competitors

Competitors are discovered, not picked. Research finds them in real search results, so nobody asks you to list them. After a run your one lever is `set_competitor_importance`: mark a competitor `important` to boost clusters where it ranks top 10 by 1.25x, or `ignored` to drop it from the rankings.

## Content plan and suggestion

A content plan holds article suggestions. `create_content_plan_from_opportunities` harvests the top 30 clusters of a completed run into suggestions. You can also bring your own idea: `expand_idea` scores it against the niche without writing anything, and `accept_idea` commits it. Rising topics from the radar become suggestions through `add_radar_topic`.

## Brief

A brief is the writer-ready plan a piece is drafted from. Every tool that creates a suggestion also starts its brief, so no second call is needed. Briefs are capped at 10 a day on the free plan, counted in a 24-hour window that starts with the first brief; anything over the cap queues and forges when the window resets. A suggestion holds one brief per channel.

## The five channels

The five channels are `article`, `reels`, `youtube`, `x` and `linkedin`. The `article` brief is always forged; `generate_article_brief` with a `channel` adds the others without touching existing briefs. For `reels` and `youtube` the brief is not the script. It is the plan the script is written from.

## Drafting and the lint gate

VarynForge does not draft content on its servers. Your agent drafts, with your tokens, using the brief and the channel's writer prompt from `get_writer_system_prompt`. Then `lint_draft` grades the draft against the brief's rubric. A pass moves the suggestion to `ready_to_publish`; a flagged draft moves it to `draft_ready`. The gate is daily-capped on every plan, and `get_draft_status` re-reads a verdict for free.

## Publishing

VarynForge ships no publish connectors. Your agent publishes through the CMS or platform MCP it already drives, or you place the piece yourself. Once the URL is live and checked, the agent attests it: `mark_article_published` for an article, `register_derived_asset` for a post or a video.

## Organizations

Every project belongs to one organization. The plan, research credits and usage limits belong to the organization and are shared by its members. Every account has a personal organization, and you can create more and invite teammates. Paid plans start with Forge Starter at $75 a month, one research run included.

## Where to go next

[Connect your agent](/docs/connect-your-agent) sets up the MCP server. [Free and paid](/docs/free-and-paid) explains what each plan runs. [The MCP tools](/docs/mcp-tools) lists every tool by group.
