Connect your agent: one endpoint, any MCP host, sign in once
Your agent connects to VarynForge over MCP and works on your behalf, signed in as you. Everything it starts runs on your account: the projects it creates, the briefs it forges, the research runs you approve. The web app at app.varynforge.com shows the same projects and the same briefs, because the agent and the app read from one place.
What connecting gives you
Your agent gets the whole tool surface, the same tools on every account. Your account decides what they can do, and your plan only sets how much you can run. On the free plan your agent can create projects, map your niche and your sitemap, and forge up to 10 writer-ready briefs a day from your own ideas. A research run takes a paid plan, and your agent asks you before it spends one. When a tool hits a limit, it returns a structured answer that says what happened, what is still free, and what unlocks the rest, so your agent can tell you plainly. The full list is in the MCP tools reference.
The endpoint
One address for every host. The server speaks streamable HTTP, sign-in goes through your VarynForge account, and there is no API key to paste.
https://app.varynforge.com/api/mcp
Claude Desktop
Claude Desktop adds it from the Connectors UI, no config file needed. Open Settings, then Connectors, click Add custom connector, and paste the address:
https://app.varynforge.com/api/mcp
If you prefer the config file, this goes in claude_desktop_config.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"varynforge": {
"url": "https://app.varynforge.com/api/mcp"
}
}
}
Claude Code
One line in any terminal.
claude mcp add --transport http varynforge https://app.varynforge.com/api/mcp
Cursor
Add to Cursor installs it in one click. Or paste this into .cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"varynforge": {
"url": "https://app.varynforge.com/api/mcp"
}
}
}
VS Code
Add to VS Code installs it through the VS Code redirect. Or add the same entry to your MCP config:
{
"mcpServers": {
"varynforge": {
"url": "https://app.varynforge.com/api/mcp"
}
}
}
Codex
One line for the OpenAI Codex CLI and IDE extension.
codex mcp add varynforge --url https://app.varynforge.com/api/mcp
If this is your first MCP server in Codex, set experimental_use_rmcp_client = true in ~/.codex/config.toml first.
Any other MCP host
A host that reads a JSON config takes this entry:
{
"mcpServers": {
"varynforge": {
"url": "https://app.varynforge.com/api/mcp"
}
}
}
The first sign-in
On the first tool call, your browser opens on the VarynForge sign-in. Sign in once, the same way you sign in to the web app, and the host carries that session from then on. The exchange is standard OAuth, so the host never sees your password and you never manage a key. No account yet? You can register for free from that same page.
What your agent does first
A connected agent starts every session the same way, so you never land on "now what?":
get_account_statusreads your plan, your remaining quotas, and a ranked list of what to do next.list_projectschecks whether you have projects yet.- If the list is empty,
get_onboarding_guidereturns a short pitch for where you are and a setup checklist, and your agent walks you through it. If you already have projects, it skips the welcome and tells you where you stand and the next move.
The free Claude plugin
In Claude Code, the VarynForge plugin bundles this connection with three skills that run on your agent's own model, with no account: a draft check, manual keyword research, and an internal-link audit.
/plugin marketplace add VarynForge/claude-plugin
/plugin install varynforge@varynforge
The skills work without signing in. The bundled connection adds live research when you choose to sign in.
Where to go next
- What VarynForge is: what the research layer does for your agent.
- Free and paid: what each plan runs, and what a research run costs.
- The MCP page: every host on one screen, with copy buttons.
